Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is Lymphedema Therapy?

Lymphedema therapy is a specialized treatment that relieves swelling by moving fluid out of swollen, congested areas of the body.

It is a comprehensive treatment that should only be performed by certified individuals with extensive training in the combined treatment of lymphatic disorders.

This non-invasive therapeutic approach includes gentle manual treatment, compression therapy solutions, skin care, exercise program for the lymphatic system and other modalities.

Lymphatic treatment can also be beneficial for acute swelling disorders and chronic conditions.

  • What is Compression Therapy?

Compression garments are an important component used to support our vascular and lymphatic systems.

We work with you and your physician to determine the best solution for your compression therapy needs.

We do require a prescription from your provider for medically graded compression garments.

  • Do you participate with my insurance? What are my payment options?

Payment for treatment is the sole responsibility of the client. SST does not bill insurance or communicate with outside agencies for the purpose of payment.

We accept credit card, check or cash as payment.

  • Do I need a prescription/order for occupational therapy, specializing in lymphedema services?

Wisconsin law does not require a referral from a physician.

  • Do you provide telehealth services?

Yes, we do! We offer a HPAA compliant therapeutic platform with all communications.

  • What happens if I am unable to make my appointment?

Fees for no-show and cancellation less than 24-hour notice are based on the length of treatment reserved. A minimum of $50 will be charged.
